We timed our Bhutan trip around the Punakha Tshechu, and it was the best decision we made. Even at our age, we found the event accessible and emotionally rewarding. We had front-row views of the dances, and our guide helped us understand the stories behind them. The atmosphere was peaceful, respectful, and celebratory all at once. One touching moment was seeing young children bowing to monks with such reverence — it showed us how deeply rooted these traditions are. The dramatic location of the Dzong, surrounded by blooming jacarandas and the river, made the whole experience absolutely magical. A must-see, no matter your age.
