The Laya Gasa Trek is hands down one of the most epic and remote treks I’ve ever completed — and I’ve done the Annapurna Circuit and Kilimanjaro! This trek pushed me physically and rewarded me in ways I can’t fully describe. Crossing high-altitude passes like Sinche La and Jare La, walking through untouched forests, and camping beneath snowcapped giants was unforgettable. But what set this trek apart were the encounters with the Layap people — warm, proud, and completely in harmony with nature. I felt like I had stepped into a time capsule where tradition, landscape, and simplicity all coexisted. For serious adventurers who want to dive into Bhutan’s wilderness and culture, this trek is an absolute must.
