Attending the Paro Festival was one of the most inspiring cultural experiences of my life. From the moment I entered the courtyard of Paro Dzong, I was swept into a world of color, music, and mysticism. The masked dances (Cham) were mesmerizing — each one telling a story of good versus evil, rich with symbolism. I was especially moved by the Dance of the Black Hats, which felt like witnessing a living legend unfold before my eyes. The locals came dressed in their finest ghos and kiras, and there was a feeling of unity, reverence, and joy. I didn’t just watch a festival — I felt part of something ancient and sacred. Bhutan truly lives its culture.
