I planned my trip around the Paro Tsechu and I’m so glad I did! As a solo traveler, I was a bit nervous at first, but the warmth and hospitality of the Bhutanese people made me feel completely welcome. The energy during the festival was electric — monks in vibrant robes, children laughing, and elders whispering old stories. The giant Thongdrel unveiling on the final day was something I’ll never forget — the atmosphere turned so spiritual and peaceful, people lined up in silence for blessings. It felt like a window into Bhutan’s soul. I came alone, but I left with a heart full of connection and wonder.
