Traveling with kids (8 & 12) was seamless! June’s drizzle gifted us empty trails and misty dzongs. Our guide, Sonam, tailored the pace: ponies carried the kids halfway up Tiger’s Nest, and they wove rainbow threads at Thimphu’s National Textile Museum. In Phobjikha Valley, we spotted endangered black-necked cranes via telescopes at the conservation center. Family win: Cooking momos (dumplings) with a chef in Paro! Hotels provided extra blankets for chilly nights.
