From a visual perspective, the Thimphu Festival is absolutely spectacular. The golden-roofed Dzong, the colorful costumes, the flowing dances, and the thousands of people in traditional dress create an endless series of photo opportunities. I was especially drawn to capturing candid moments — elders in prayer, children mimicking dance moves, and the intricate mask designs. The early morning light against the Dzong’s white walls was perfect for wide shots. Despite the crowds, it never felt chaotic. It was a well-orchestrated display of faith and identity. For cultural photographers, this festival is a dream assignment — every frame tells a story
